West Ham needs to bring in a top-tier striker to lessen the scoring load on the aging tandem of Danny Ings and Michail Antonio, even if they have scored a respectable 16 goals in their first nine Premier League games.

Though they bought well in other areas of the squad during the summer, David Moyes and Tim Steidten neglected the striking department so that has to be a priority in January.

Former Man United midfielder and now broadcaster, Owen Hargreaves, has suggested that perhaps the Hammers should go after Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who will be back from an eight month ban in January.

Hargreaves is clear, but he’s not going to be cheap, and it’ll be intriguing to see if West Ham is willing to stretch its budget that far.

He claimed on Premier League Productions that “Ivan Toney is the one who screams out”

Benrahma is capable of playing to the left. Kudus can capitalize on one of those broad zones.

“Moyes seems to have the players,” If you can, try to fit in a Toney. Just get Kudus in the side, then let Paqueta play central, in my opinion. He’s without a doubt their finest player.

It is thought that Toney’s talents could be of interest to Chelsea and Arsenal, two competitors in London, thus Moyes and Steidten will have a difficult time persuading
