The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have the NFL’s oldest rivalry. The two teams have met 207 times, with the Packers leading the all-time series 106-95-6. It goes without saying that the two teams keep a tight eye on one another. This season is no exception, as Justin Fields’ status in Chicago appears to be in jeopardy.

If the Bears decide to part ways with Fields, one insider speculated on the likely asking price for the former 11th overall pick.

Green Bay Packers’ Biggest Rival The Chicago Bears May Trade Justin Fields If They Are Offered This Deal

According to Alex Ford of Sports Talk Atlanta:

Another possible option is the trade market. There are not many situations arising where a superstar is forcing his way out of a city yet; there could be others, though.

Someone like Justin Fields could become available if Chicago feels they’re better off with Drake Maye or Caleb Williams. If the Bears do decide their future doesn’t involve Fields, Atlanta should at the very least inquire.

According to Daniel Jeremiah, the price would start at the Sam Darnold trade, which cost the Panthers a second-rounder, a fourth-rounder, and a sixth-round pick.

Would The Bears Actually Trade Justin Fields?

With The Bears likely having the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (thanks to the Carolina Panthers) it is more possible than ever.  Chicago invested heavily into building around Fields this year.  Trading for D.J. Moore, adding to the defense in Montez Sweat, multiple premium draft picks moving forward.  The franchise had high hopes for what the team could do this season.

While they have put together a few solid wins this season, the team doesn’t feel close to a playoff contender.  Would starting over at quarterback by drafting a top prospect be the right move?  It isn’t far from possible.  In fact, many believe it is what guaranteed to happen.
