PAINFUL NEWS: Tributes are flooding in for Pittsburgh Steelers Legend who died at the age of 40
COLORADO’S LARIMER COUNTY —
Clark Haggans, a former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker and Super Bowl XL champion, died at the age of 46, according to his former college.
Colorado State University, where Haggans played in the 1990s and is now in the Hall of Fame, announced on Monday that their former player “passed away on Monday.”
Colorado State referred to Haggans as “one of the greatest defensive players in program history and the program’s career sack leader.”
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office said it went to a private property in Colorado to examine the death of a 46-year-old man named Haggans.
The cause of death is still being studied, but “no foul play is evident,” according to the coroner’s office.
Haggans was picked by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and he went on to become a star in Pittsburgh.
Haggans was a vital member of the Steelers’ Super Bowl-winning team in 2005, with a career-high nine sacks.
According to the school, Haggans led Colorado State to two championships in 1997 and 1999, and his 33 sacks remain a program record.
The school says it intends to “remember and celebrate the life of” Haggans
The next round of rain and snow is predicted to wreak havoc on Northern California’s commute on Tuesday evening through Wednesday.
Due to snowfall, chain controls were installed on Interstate 80 in the Sierra around 7 p.m.
By midday Wednesday, the valley’s rainfall totals will range from half an inch to three-quarters of an inch.
