(AP) — GREEN BAY, WI Coach Matt LaFleur of the Green Bay Packers sent out a message at the start of the offseason for a squad that overcome inexperience to advance to the divisional stage of the playoffs.

Gone are the days of surprising opponents with sudden moves.

“Merely reaching a particular point does not imply that it will remain that way going forward,” LaFleur stated on Monday during his final press conference of the season. What then are we going to do in order to improve? And it’s anticipated that they will surpass the squad that departed today on April 15th, and that won’t happen by accident.

The Elias Sports Bureau’s “weighted age” metric, which takes into account a player’s number of appearances in games, indicates that the Packers (10-9) were the youngest squad to win a postseason game since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

They overcame a 1-5 start to secure the No. 7 seed in the NFC and make the playoffs. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys, ranked second, 48–32.

Since quarterback Jordan Love has proven he is a worthy replacement for four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets in April of last year, the Packers have felt confident they are ready to compete for years to come.

However, they have to demonstrate that they can manage higher standards.
