The Georgia Bulldogs are currently on a six-game losing run and are 11th in the SEC.

The Bulldogs, who were 12-3 prior to conference play, have only four conference wins and a difficult slate to finish the season.

While this season may not go as planned, they will sign 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward Asa Newell, who is presently ranked No. 13 in the class of 2024 and the No. 2 power forward in the class.

“I feel like they need me out there,” Newell explained. “I still think Coach Mike White is doing an excellent job, so there’s nothing else to say. I just know that when I go there, I will be able to aid them a lot and finish their plays.”

Since announcing his pledge, Newell has yet to return to Athens, but the staff has come down to many practices and keeps in contact with him and his family.

“My family went up there last weekend but I haven’t visited recently,” he told me. “They’ve come to practices though and tell me how they’re ready and excited to get me on campus.”

Currently Georgia has the No. 73 overall recruiting class and that’s due to Newell being the lone commit in the 2024 class. As one of the highest recruits in program history, Newell has been paying attention to how they’re playing and is excited for next season.

“Before I get there I just want to be more physical, aggressive, and dominant,” he went on to say. “I think I’m starting to do it now. I also want to improve my handle, become an outstanding knockdown shooter, and guard all positions. I feel like I have more pep in my step since the McDonald’s All American incident. It placed a chip on my shoulder.”Breaking
