Now that the 2023 NFL season is officially in the rearview mirror for every club in the league, the Chicago Bears face the daunting chore of deciding what to do with the No. 1 overall pick, despite the fact that the team is in a strong position regardless of what they do on April 25.

Last year, the Bears had the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft but chose to trade the pick to the Carolina Panthers, who went with quarterback Bryce Young to be their franchise player moving forward.

The Bears passed up the opportunity to sign C.J. Stroud, who later led the Houston Texans to the NFL playoffs and defeated the Cleveland Browns in the first round.

This year, Chicago is in a great position to bring in a franchise quarterback with USC star Caleb Williams, who is anticipated to be an NFL superstar and possesses all of the necessary professional qualities.

However, the team has yet to make a decision because they would need to move quarterback Justin Fields, which they declined last season but appear more likely to do this year.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network believes the Bears will eventually choose Williams at No. 1 because he described the Trojans standout as having “unlimited upside,” which is obviously what a franchise likes to hear about an incoming rookie, according to NFL Total Access.
Over the next several weeks, it will be intriguing to see what the Bears do to solve the quarterback problem, as the team must make a choice on Fields.
All signs lead to Chicago trading Fields for assets and bringing in Williams as the franchise’s new face moving forward.
