The Seattle Seahawks announced on Tuesday that they had signed offensive tackle Max Pircher.

If that name seems familiar, it should. Pircher was with the Lions for the whole 2023 season as part of the NFL’s foreign pathways program. Pircher, an Italian-born player, filled a roster-exempt position as offensive line depth. Pircher spent the whole regular season on the team’s practice squad.

Pircher is now on his third NFL squad, having spent three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and one with the Lions. He has yet to appear in a regular-season game.

The Lions may still need to work on their offensive line depth. While Taylor Decker, Graham Glasgow, Frank Ragnow, Kevin Zeitler, and Penei Sewell form a solid starting five, the team lacks experienced bench players. At tackle, they have signed Dan Skipper and Connor Galvin. Their interior depth includes Kayode Awosika, Colby Sorsdal, Michael Niese, Netane Muti, and Matt Farniok.
