One of the draft’s best pass rushers is generating buzz in the NFL. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Florida State edge rusher Jared Verse will meet with the Seattle Seahawks today and tomorrow. Garafolo also mentions that Verse had already met with the Buccaneers and Broncos.

After spending his first three collegiate seasons at Albany, Verse put himself on the NFL map following two standout campaigns at Florida State. The edge rusher earned first-team All-ACC and first-team All-American nods in each of the past two seasons, compiling 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for loss along the way.

Verse, described as a “violent tempo setter” by NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah, gets high draft marks due to his flexibility. The prospect played both outside and inside of Florida State’s defensive line, excelling in pass-rushing and run-stopping. Verse, who is six feet four and weighs 260 pounds, should be able to bring his positional versatility into the NFL.

Verse’s name is projected to be called in the first round of the 2024 draft due to his strong performance over the previous two seasons. He is battling with Alabama’s Dallas Turner and UCLA’s Laiatu Latu for the first edge rusher off the board.

The Broncos (No. 12) and Seahawks (No. 16) both have picks in the middle of the first round, putting them in a strong position to land one of the draft’s best pass rushers. The Buccaneers, with the 26th pick, may need to make a deal if they want to land one of the draft’s top edge prospects.
