Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees outfielder, was the topic of Sunday’s game after his team’s 15-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field, but not because of his three-hit day or the fact that he has now homered in two consecutive games.

In the sixth inning, while sliding into second base on a grounder from Alex Verdugo, Judge raised his left arm, which was cushioned by a sliding mitt. Judge’s hand stopped Brewers shortstop Willy Adames’ throw to first base, allowing Verdugo to reach safely.

The umpiring crew gathered together to discuss the play but did not rule interference, which elicited protestations from Brewers manager Pat Murphy.
