Alabama had an intriguing Sunday with its two big sports teams. The Crimson Tide basketball team, which had competed in the Final Four last month, has signed one of the greatest players on the transfer market in Rutgers center Clifford Omoruyi. However, the football team lost one of its incoming freshman to a Big Ten powerhouse.

Alabama Loses A Star Safety

On3.com’s Hayes Fawcett reports, “Alabama safety Peyton Woodyard has committed to Oregon.”

Oregon’s head coach, Dan Lanning, was the Crimson Tide’s defensive graduate assistant in 2015 but became famous around the college football world when he became Georgia’s defensive coordinator in 2019 was the defensive coordinator when the Bulldogs knocked off Alabama in the 2021 National Championship.

Lanning was rumored to be one of the coaches the program would go after when Nick Saban retired, but Lanning said he was staying in Eugene, and Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer would get the Crimson Tide head coaching job.

Oregon Is Building A PowerHouse

This season, the Ducks will make their Big Ten debut, and they will not be taken lightly. Oregon will be one of the greatest teams in college football this season, with a chance to win the Big Ten championship in their first season in the conference.
