According to NBA source Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Utah Jazz may trade Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson this offseason. The Jazz finished 31-51 this season. They missed the playoffs for the second straight season. “There’s also a belief from rival executives who spoke with HoopsHype that guards Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson could become available on the trade market,” according to Scotto. This season, Sexton averaged 18.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, shooting 48.7% from the field, 39.4% from beyond the arc, and 85.9% from the free throw line. He will earn $18.4 million next season.
Meanwhile, Clarkson averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 41.3% overall, 29.4% from 3 and 88.1% from the foul line. He’ll make $14.1 million in 2024-25.
Sexton has career averages of 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz, while Clarkson has career averages of 16.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cavaliers and Jazz. He won the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year Award.
This season, the Jazz were 11th in the NBA in points per game, 29th in points allowed, 17th in offensive rating, 30th in defensive rating, and 23rd in net rating. Sexton and Clarkson ranked second and third on the squad in points per game, trailing only All-Star Lauri Markkanen.
