The Detroit Lions placed two players on the injured reserve and signed wide receiver Tim Patrick to its 53-man roster on Tuesday. Patrick, who has played in the past two games for the Lions, is now officially on the roster after being elevated from the practice squad this season.

Detroit also placed linebacker Derrick Barnes and defensive end Marcus Davenport on injured reserve.

Davenport’s move was expected as head coach said on Monday that the defensive end suffered a season-ending tricep tear on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. In two games, Davenport has recorded a half-sack and four quarterback hits in two games. He missed Week 2’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a groin injury. For Barnes, he suffered a knee injury on Sunday and it’s unknown when he could return to the playing field.

“We’re still getting second opinions on that. What we know right now is he’s going to be down for a little while,” Campbell told reporters on Monday. “We know that. And then it’s just a matter as these opinions keep coming back, how long is that going to be?” On the season, Barnes has 10 total tackles and one pass defended in three games.
