Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is known for being even keeled. He doesn’t often show much emotion on the sideline. He’s certainly not the one to get fiery just for the fun of it.

So when he gets heated on the sideline, it’s worth noting.

DeBoer did so right before halftime in the game this past Saturday against Georgia. There was a play when Alabama was on offense that DeBoer clearly thought should have been called pass interference on defense. But there was no flag.

“I was just fighting for my team,” DeBoer said Monday. “I know they were out there fighting, doing everything they could. Loved the way we were playing up until that point. I saw it a certain way and wanted to make it known.”

DeBoer said he doesn’t predetermine or think about what he’s going to do in those rare moments he becomes fiery.

“I just felt like that was a big time in the game,” DeBoer said. “We were doing a lot of things well. Just some opportunities we didn’t take advantage of as a team. That moment right there, we talk about the middle eight (minutes) and going into the locker room with a lot of momentum. I know we got a safety there, right in that area too. There were some missed opportunities would loved to have had.”
