Many of the players with Leeds United have expiring contracts in the summer of 2024, and few of them currently seem to be in line for new contracts.
Leeds have done a great job in terms of churning the squad following the shocking performances that led to relegation, improving in virtually every area during the summer.
There are some that have stayed put at Elland Road since then, but remain unlikely to have a future with the club under Daniel Farke.
Contracts expiring in 2024 are a clear indication of what lies in store for some players, with a list of eight players on the books with less than a year left on their deals
Here, we look at two players that we think are bound to leave base on developments this season…
Cody Drameh
Cody Drameh’s departure is evident and has already been essentially announced; the right-back will join Birmingham City on loan for the 23–24 season.
Despite the right-back position at Leeds not exactly being a locked down position that he’s going to get nowhere near, this is Drameh’s third loan stay in the Championship in as many seasons.
While on loan at Luton Town last season, he shone at the top of the Championship and earned promotion, but when Leeds were later demoted, he was unable to fully showcase his talent.
When his loan at St Andrew’s finishes at the end of this campaign, so does his Leeds deal, and it’s fully expected that he won’t be staying put with a contract extension.
If Leeds have offered him one, they would be entitled to compensation from the club that he ends up joining in 2024.

Lewis Bate
Joining Leeds from being a regular in one of the notoriously best youth sides in Europe, Lewis Bate seemed a really shrewd investment that has consistently made under-21 football appear beneath him.
A loan to Oxford United last season did totally prove his readiness for Championship football as he was up and down in League One.
It made sense that he would go out on loan again this season or be tested in a Championship side more likely to dominate the ball and bring the best out of him, but neither have been the case.
Instead, he’s stuck in a young team he’s outgrown and no closer to breaking into the senior squad on a consistent basis, all while 17-year-old Archie Gray plays every week.
Leeds don’t appear to see a future for Bate at Elland Road, which is a great tragedy given the skill we know he possesses.
