Everton sought to sign Morgan Gibbs-White during the 2022 summer transfer window, but he chose Nottingham Forest instead. To bring the attacker to the City Ground, the Reds shattered their club transfer record at the time.

Gibbs-White has matured as a Trentside player. He’s a fantastic footballer who appears to be getting better all the time under the tutelage of Steve Cooper.

The 23-year-old is going from strength to strength and he is comfortably the most technically gifted player in the squad. He boasts the creative spark to unlock defences and he’s striving for consistency.

Everton wanted Gibbs-White in 2022

It would appear that Forest had to move quickly to get this deal over the line. Forest completed a deal for Gibbs-White after the 2022/23 season had started and Frank Lampard was desperate for him at Goodison Park.

The Athletic claims that Everton had placed the Forest player high on their transfer list for the summer of 2022. They saw him as a player who could seriously make an impact at the club but he went to Forest

Working with Cooper again was likely a big thing for Gibbs-White. He worked under the Forest head coach with the England under-17s and was also on loan at Swansea.

Forest did well to sign Gibbs-White in the end

The Reds might have struggled if they hadn’t gotten Gibbs-White when they did. Other teams were certainly interested, with Everton being a highly traditional and appealing choice for players.

Gibbs-White is still aiming for consistent goal contributions. There is a chance that they will come through, and Forest fans must continue to back him.

The 23-year-old is a big hit at City Ground. Forest grabbed a real gem with this signing, and Cooper now realizes the goal is to get the most out of him in the future.
