With Bremen presently in 12th place in the Bundesliga, the 29-year-old has already netted five goals and provided three assists.

According to German outlet Bild, Steve Cooper’s side are ‘red hot’ on signing the German with the club unhappy with the impact of Divock Origi.

Ducksch has scored 14 times in 2023, only bettered in the Bundesliga by Harry Kane and fellow Forest target Serhou Guirassy.

Nottingham Forest want striker Ducksch

With Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury struggles and the fact the striker is heading to AFCON in January, the Reds are targeting another striker to fill the void.

Bremen sold fellow striker Niclas Fullkrug to Borussia Dortmund this summer to try and raise funds to help balance the books.

However, the club are still recording a loss, with Forest looking to take advantage with a deal in the region of £13 million.

Bild’s report also states that Ducksch would be interested in a move to the City Ground, with the 29-year-old keen on a move to the Premier League.

Would Ducksch be a good signing?

Ducksch, who made his debut for Germany during the current international break, undoubtedly has the makings of a striker that Forest should consider pursuing.

With a losing team both on and off the field, Ducksch has a very respectable goal scoring record and can be available for a low price.

Despite having three players in the striking department at the moment, Forest appear to have the least depth in this area.

But with Chris Wood’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Origi only on loan, and Awoniyi heading to the AFCON, it is imperative that Cooper tries to bolster in January.
