Trevoh Chalobah, a Nottingham Forest target, is said to be “ready to leave” Chelsea during the January transfer window.

This summer, Forest and Bayern Munich made bids for the defender but were unsuccessful. At Stamford Bridge, the 24-year-old has dropped down the pecking order, with newcomers Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi leapfrogging him.

According to 90min, Chalobah is “prepared to explore” a transfer in the winter window, and that could prompt Forest to reignite their interest. It’s said that Chelsea would prefer a permanent move rather than a loan, which would suit Forest as they already have Andrey Santos on loan from Stamford Bridge.

Forest would likely face competition for Chalobah’s signature, though. Bayern Munich, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, “remain interested” in signing the young England international. The defender was a regular under Tuchel in west London.

The Reds also “remain keen” on Chalobah, but other Premier League sides are also said to be interested. Brentford, Fulham and Newcastle United are all in the running.

Nathaniel, his brother, was a loan player for Forest in 2013-14. He appeared in 12 Championship games, scoring twice from defensive midfield.
