One of the teams considering a move to acquire Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu is Nottingham Forest. The 24-year-old is on the Reds’ radar as they look to add more fresh players in January.

Six clubs are reportedly interested in signing him when the window reopens, according to Team Talk. Everton, Brighton, West Ham, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and other teams are rumored to be interested in signing the midfielder.

Ghis tender years, the player still has some unearthed potential. He’s made a blistering start to 2023/24, scoring five goals and claiming seven assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.

Forest want Akturkoglu

It’s fair to say that Forest could perhaps do with another winger. Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi were added to the ranks in the summer but more quality will be sought.

That comes in the aftermath of Brennan Johnson’s departure to Tottenham. The club will feel that Hudson-Odoi could replace the youngster in the here and now but Elanga might be viewed as a work-in-progress player.

Akturkoglu looks destined to play in a big European league at some point. His record of 34 goals and 37 assists in 135 games isn’t too bad and it’s no surprise clubs are pouncing.

Akturkoglu could star in England

The winger is a Turkey international and he fits the profile of the sort of player that Forest like to sign these days. He’s young, has a lot of potential and would likely have a point to prove.

Both the media and his supporters have referred to him as a “wizard” in Turkey. That’s because he can easily elude players on the other team, and because he’s a guy who gets fans up from their seats.

Under Steve Cooper, the player has the potential to shine. However, given the competition from bigger teams to recruit him, the club may have to go above and beyond to make it happen.
