Georgia football is after countless elite targets in the 2026 recruiting class already. However, that doesn’t mean Kirby Smart and his staff won’t identify many new targets to go after as this recruiting cycle progresses.
Smart and his team will identify new players to recruit in many different ways from many different areas of the country. However, it is pretty easy to find a new player to offer and pursue when they shine on the biggest stage in high school football in the state of Georgia.
And that is exactly what happened with Georgia’s most recent offer in the 2026 class.
4-star RB Carsyn Baker
Four-star running back Carsyn Baker made quite the name for himself during his team’s State Championship game earlier this week. Baker recorded an impressive 115 yards and a whopping three touchdowns during his game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Not only did Baker have an elite game this week, but he is already a very solid player in the recruiting rankings. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 18 running back in the 2026 class and the No. 328 overall player in the country according to the composite rankings. So those rankings, the fact that he is from Georgia and his impressive game earlier this week gives Georgia a lot of reasons to be very interested in targeting him.
Georgia does have a lot of work to do if they want to win this recruitment since they are just now getting serious about recruiting him. The team that appears to be in the lead right now is Kentucky, who is the only team labeled “warm” on Baker’s 247Sports profile. That label isn’t always the most reliable thing in the world however, but it’s definitely worth monitoring as Baker’s recruitment progresses.
At the end of the day, it is really nice to see Georgia get involved here because Baker has a chance to really shoot up the recruiting rankings as the offseason progresses. So hopefully Smart can make the right moves, because this would be a great recruitment to win later this summer.
