Despite interest from other teams, Nottingham Forest emerged victorious in the competition to recruit Fluminense defender Nino. The center defender, who has been under the club’s notice for some time, now appears to be headed to England.

The strong central defender experienced victory with his present team on Saturday. In the Copa Libertadores final, he assisted his club in defeating Boca Juniors. It was an exciting experience for the player.

During the current campaign in Brazil, he’s been a standout performer for Fluminense. Now, Forest have moved to get a deal for Nino over the line and it’s thought a deal is close.

Forest win race to sign Nino

The Reds landed Murillo in the summer transfer window for £11 million. Now, Forest are set to raid South America once again and get a deal for Nino over the line.

According to Globo Esporte, the Reds have now won the race for the centre-back. Forest have fought off interest from other teams to land the player for just £6 million.

Nino will arrive at the club in January on the back of 50 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign for Fluminense and 228 appearances for the club in total.

Nino set for City Ground arrival

The Brazilian contingent is set to get stronger at the City Ground. Forest have agreed on a bargain fee for Nino and it could prove to be an exciting signing for the Reds.

It is difficult to believe that the defender will be too well-known to too many people. Nevertheless, it’s certain that head coach Steve Cooper wants to bolster his defense in January.

Nino is eager to remain at Fluminense and represent the team in the Club World Cup. Following that, the 26-year-old will sign with Forest, where he hopes to immediately become a member of the club and start contributing to the Premier League.
