According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Arizona Cardinals have created a 21-day practice window for star running back James Conner.

Conner has been out since injuring his knee in the Cardinals’ 34-20 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5. Arizona has gone winless without their starting running in the lineup.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner: Looking to Continue Where He Left Off

James Conner will be a welcome addition to the Arizona Cardinals when he finally joins the active roster. He was amid a fantastic season before getting injured, averaging a career-high 5.4 yards per rush attempt in five games. Conner rushed 68 times for 364 yards and two touchdowns while catching eight passes for 30 yards. The Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back joined the Cardinals in 2021, where he rushed for 15 touchdowns and earned his second career Pro Bowl nod.

Conner might provide a much-needed spark to the Arizona Cardinals’ rushing attack.

Without Conner at the helm, the Rushing offense has been abysmal. In Conner’s absence, the trio of rookie Emari Demercado, second-year NFL vet Keaontay Ingram, and former Super Bowl champ Damien Williams has failed to find clear running lanes. Demercado has seen the most action, rushing 49 times for 195 yards and one touchdown. Ingram has had his fair amount of touches, but he only averages 2.2 yards per rush attempt. Williams, on the other hand, has run 11 times for 43 yards and caught two catches for 30 yards.
