What has been rumored for the last week is now being finalized, according to multiple reports: De’Aaron Fox is on his way to the San Antonio Spurs.

On Sunday afternoon, ESPN’s Shams Charania as well as senior NBA insider Chris Haynes are both reporting that the Kings are trading Fox to the Spurs in a three-team deal that also involves the Chicago Bulls. Jordan McLaughlin is reportedly on his way to San Antonio along with Fox, Kevin Huerter is heading to Chicago and Zach LaVine is coming to Sacramento.

The Kings are also reportedly receiving Sidy Cissoko from the Spurs.

Fox, 27, is averaging 25.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 6.1 asg for the Kings (24-24) this season. He is in his eighth season with Sacramento, the franchise that drafted him with the No. 5 pick in the 2017 draft. He represented the Kings at the NBA All-Star Game in 2023.

He has one more season left on his current contract, set to expire in 2026.

Huerter is in his third season with the Kings after being traded from the Atlanta Hawks in the summer of 2022. A longtime starter, he has been coming off of the bench recently for the Kings when Malik Monk was inserted into the starting lineup in December.

McLaughlin joined the Kings this past summer after spending the previous five seasons with Minnesota. He has played in 28 games (zero starts), averaging 6.8 minutes.

LaVine, 29, is averaging 24.0 ppg this season. A two-time all-star, he was a first-round draft pick in 2014, beginning his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves before joining the Bulls in 2017.

The Kings are also reportedly receiving three first-round draft picks and three second-round picks in this trade. According to Charania, the first-round picks are in 2025 (from Charlotte), 2027 (from San Antonio) and in 2031 (from Minnesota), while the second-round picks are in 2025 (from Chicago), 2028 (from Denver) and their own pick back in 2028.
