A cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, made his practice debut on Thursday following his absence on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury. This is significant news for Green Bay since they want to have him available for their home game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday (3-6).

Last week, rookie Corey Valentine started in his place and did a very good job. However, getting Alexander back would be a great thing for this defense. On Thursday, the Packers are not practicing in pads. They also did not practice in pads on Wednesday.

One of the reasons why they need Jaire Alexander back this weekend is because the Los Angeles Chargers have one of the best pass offenses in the NFL this season. Justin Herbert has thrown for 2,349 yards passing and 17 touchdowns so far this season for Los Angeles.

This will be the biggest test that the Packers’ defense will face this season by far.

Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander Has Struggled to Be on the Field This Season

Alexander has only played in five of the nine Packers games so far this season. If he was able to suit up against the Chargers on Sunday, this would be only the sixth game this season he would play in. Jaire Alexander has recorded 22 tackles and four pass deflections in the games he has appeared in this season.

Green Bay could use him back this weekend. It would be interesting to see if he would play because he needs to make sure he practices on Friday before possibly playing on Sunday. Also, the Chargers have one of their key wide receivers on the injury report, wide receiver Keenan Allen. He did not practice on Wednesday.

Jalen Guyton is a receiver to keep an eye on if Alexander can guard him this weekend. Despite their 3-6 record on the season, the Packers have a greater chance of pulling off the upset against the Chargers at home if Jaire Alexander is healthy.
