Garrett remarked, “I’ve played through things that should have sidelined me before.” “I will not give up and will always act in the team’s and my own best interests. We are very excited about this season and our plans. And neither I nor we will be held back by anything like this.
Payton was left fielding inquiries regarding the unusual nature of the game’s outcome after the Broncos emerged largely unscathed. He couldn’t believe that this was the first game in the league’s 1920 founding history to end that way.
He questioned incredulously, “You’re saying there has never been a score of 29-12?”
