Former NFL player D.J. Hayden and two of his previous college partners passed on in a two-car crash that police said slaughtered six individuals after a driver sped through a ruddy light at a downtown Houston crossing point early Saturday. Two others were harmed.
The Houston Chronicle detailed that Hayden, a first-round draft choose by the Pillagers in 2013, and his previous College of Houston colleagues, Zachary McMillian and Ralph Oragwu, were among those slaughtered within the crash. A fourth previous UH football player, Jeffery Lewis, survived the mischance, agreeing to the daily paper.
The crash happened around 2 a.m., after a dark Chrysler vehicle that showed up to be going “exceptionally quick” through a ruddy light on Fannin St. collided into a dark Acura SUV that had a green light on Penetrate St., Houston Police Asst. Chief Megan Howard said in a news briefing Saturday morning.
Counting the previous competitors, five guys and one female kicked the bucket within the crash. Of those murdered, four individuals passed on at the scene. Four others were taken to the healing center, where two of them afterward kicked the bucket. Another individual, a female, is in basic condition with life-threatening wounds. The other survivor, a male, is being met by agents.
The driver of the Chrysler who ran the ruddy light passed on at the scene, Howard said. One of the men who kicked the bucket was a person on foot on the walkway, police said. Police have not however discharged the characters of the expired. Hayden was within the Acura SUV, the Chronicle detailed.
In 2012, Hayden made features after enduring a near-fatal heart injury from colliding with a partner amid hone. Months afterward, he was picked up by the Oakland Pillagers — presently based in Las Vegas — as the 12th by and large choose of the 2013 NFL draft.
