LT Overton will be back at Alabama for the 2025 season, he announced on Wednesday.
Overton could have decided to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, but will instead be a key cog on Alabama’s defensive line next fall.
“They journey towards success that has been paved at Alabama by the guys before me is not over,” Overton wrote in-part. “I am excited to take on challenges, and I am always looking to provide leadership. I am committed to working hard to achieve the goals that I share with my teammates … As the late Kobe Bryant would say — job’s not finished!”
Overton spent the first 2 seasons of his collegiate career at Texas A&M before transferring to Alabama ahead of the 2024 season. He was immediately impactful for the Tide as he amassed 42 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in 2024.
Overton led all Alabama defensive linemen with 503 snaps this season, according to Pro Football Focus. He graded out as Alabama’s second-best edge rusher this season, per PFF.
Alabama will hope to take a big step forward next season after going just 9-4 in Year 1 under Kalen DeBoer.
