Georgia Football received another Christmas present, which arrived on Christmas Eve. Trevor Etienne, a former Florida running back, has made his decision and stated that he will play for Georgia. The 5’9, 205-pound running back carried the ball 131 times for 753 yards and eight touchdowns.

This is a massive get for the Dawgs. Georgia will lose either Milton or Edwards to the draft or lose both. The Dawgs needed a veteran back and a dynamic running back. Georgia got both of those traits from Etienne. Kirby Smart has done a great job getting guys through the portal.

Smart has addressed the Dawgs’ every need and upgraded some positions. Georgia is going all in for Carson Beck and the offense. There are so many weapons on this offense; it goes one or two deep in almost every position. Not only has Etienne given the Dawgs depth at the running back position, but the Dawgs get a home run hitter out of the backfield.

Last year, the Dawgs lacked the running back that could hit a long run or had the combination of speed and power; in Etienne, they have that. As you can tell, I am a big fan of Etienne as a back; I just hated that he played at Florida.

It will be weird pulling for a guy who has come over from the other side, but this will be the norm in college football. Personally, I like how Flordia fans celebrated Brenton Cox and Jalen Kimber leaving Georgia to go to Florida, and now they are in shambles over Etienne leaving Flordia to go to Georgia. It is just rich, and I enjoy miserable Florida fans more than life itself.

I will not proclaim that the Dawgs will have the greatest offense in college football history next season, but man, they will be deadly. Georgia fans should get excited about what lies ahead for the Dawgs because of this recruiting class and what Kirby Smart has done with the portal.

We could be in for a really special fall coming up. Georgia is running back university, and it has added to that moniker with the addition of Etienne
