VITAL INJURY: A Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker has gotten a knee injury.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Outside linebacker T.J. Watt went down with an apparent knee injury late in the third quarter, dealing a big blow to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense in Week 18. Watt went down after colliding with defensive tackle Montravius Adams. When the Pro Bowler leaped up to bat a pass, a moving Adams collided with his knee, tripping him. On the field, he was visibly agitated, gripping his left knee.

Watt was able to walk off with some assistance and head to the medical tent for further evaluation.

The Steelers have been dealing with some serious injuries all season, currently without star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee). They’ve also lost two of their starting inside linebackers. Watt currently leads the NFL in sacks with 19, collecting two against the Ravens in Week 18.

Without Watt, the Steelers will turn to rookie Nick Herbig and veteran Markus Golden to work opposite of Alex Highsmith. All Steelers will provide updates as the team released more information about Watt’s injury.
