Georgia has signed the state’s top two football players from the 2024 recruiting class. That was headed by the state’s best player, Jordan Thomas, a defensive lineman from Don Bosco Prep (N.J.), whom Brown knew Georgia wanted the moment he saw him jumping at 320 pounds during a tryout.”Georgia, when Fran was working there, he attended a workout. He noticed that I could move with my weight. I was moving quite well. I was jumping over hurdles, moving, twisting my hips, spinning, and he offered me a spot,” Thomas told Dawgs247 before enrolling at the beginning of the month. “He’s a Jersey man, so we’ve always had a nice relationship. Jersey boys have a terrific connection with one another. He was a good person. Outside of football, he constantly made sure you were doing well. He was constantly checking in on my academics and film to ensure I was doing well.

Even when Brown left, he made it clear to Thomas that he needed to stick to his plans—and that Georgia still needed his Jersey fire.

“They always bring hard work,” Thomas explained. “They sleep on Jersey. They claim it is not a football state, but rather a basketball state. Jersey kids always have a chip on their shoulder, so having a couple Jersey men on the team is beneficial.”

Aside from Brown, Thomas credited Kirby Smart and Tray Scott for playing the most significant roles in keeping him down.

He likes how Smart is a defensive coach who is “always around his defensive guys.” Thomas said seeing Smart work at practice helped him make the choice to join the Bulldogs. But in the end, Scott’s tenacity sealed the deal.

“How he coaches. “When I visited spring practices, he was tough on the defensive line, but he was also coaching them up,” Thomas added. “He teaches them solid technique. That’s what made me believe that’s where I want to be.”

A few months after his spring practice tour, Thomas returned for his official visit.

He says he knew when he left Athens that the Bulldogs were the obvious choice.

On my OV. The people around me, the Georgia players, I felt like I was already connecting with them. It was not like previous visits. When I visited other places, it was occasionally awkward, but at Georgia, you just feel like yourself among everyone,” Thomas explained. “That’s why I felt that was my home.”

Thomas adds a unique versatility to Georgia’s defensive line. He has the versatility to play multiple positions on the Bulldogs’ line. Most of his conversations with Scott have focused on the interior defensive line, but Thomas believes he could play various positions.

He’s already had the chance to practice with Justin Greene at the All-American Bowl in January. Thomas has already arrived on school as an early enrollee. He grew quite acquainted with Georgia’s DL group along the process.

“It’s fantastic to get a fresh start playing with my teammates. You can see myself and Justin working hard. We talk between salespeople. It’s been fun. He’s good. He’s skilled with his hands. He assisted me when I was unsure about a technique and provided me with useful information. “Our D-line class is nasty,” Thomas stated. “Coach Scott stated I’m adaptable. I can play the 0 tech, the 3 tech, and possibly the 5 if I grow a little slimmer. I imagine myself playing.
