LATEST NEWS: Before Zach Orr accepted a job with the Ravens DC, the Packers offered …

Following their unexpected success during the 2023–24 season, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are getting ready for what seems to be a very significant offseason for the team’s future. Before becoming a true hero in the Packers’ unexpected run to the divisional round of the NFC playoffs, Love had a rollercoaster regular season. This might pave the way for a faster timeline for the team going ahead.

Recently, the Packers hired Boston College’s Jeff Hafley as their new defensive coordinator to replace Joe Barry; however, it seems that Green Bay’s search extended far beyond just the collegiate level.

“Zach Orr, the new defensive coordinator for the Ravens, is viewed as a potential NFL head coach. He had options if the 31-year-old former linebacker hadn’t been promoted from inside linebackers coach,” Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 stated on X, the social media site that was once known as Twitter. “According to a league source, Orr was offered the position of defensive coordinator by the #Packers, but he chose to stay in Baltimore.”

The Packers’ defense was shaky throughout the postseason but was dominant during the team’s shocking blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the NFC playoffs, before performing admirably against the San Francisco 49ers for most of the game and then relinquishing some backbreaking drives toward the end of the contest en route to the loss.

In any case, with the most important position already in place, it seems that Green Bay is poised to make another deep playoff incision next year.
