With the season over for the Georgia Bulldogs, attention now shifts to roster management. Key decisions loom as players weigh their options to turn pro or return to Athens for another shot at a national championship. Several pivotal contributors are at the center of this discussion, and their choices could significantly impact Georgia’s 2025 campaign.
Here’s a breakdown of the top players to watch:
RB Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne, the dynamic running back and younger brother of NFL star Travis Etienne, has solidified his reputation as a playmaker at both Florida and Georgia. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart didn’t mince words, calling Etienne the best player on the Bulldogs’ offense in 2024 when healthy. Unfortunately, injuries limited Etienne’s availability, sidelining him for four games and reducing his role in the Ole Miss matchup.
With lingering durability concerns for Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson, Georgia’s depth would hinge on Nate Frazier, Cash Jones, Dwight Phillips, Chauncey Bowens, and incoming freshmen Bo Walker if Etienne opts for the NFL. His talent and leadership would be welcomed back for another season in Athens.
TE Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp stepped into a larger role following the departure of Brock Bowers. While replacing Bowers was a monumental challenge, Delp showed growth as a blocker and demonstrated his value as a passing-game weapon when utilized. At 6’5” and 245 pounds, Delp possesses the size and skill set NFL teams seek in modern tight ends, making him a compelling prospect.
However, another year in Georgia’s system could allow Delp to refine his craft and improve his draft stock. Georgia fans are hopeful he’ll postpone his NFL ambitions for one more season. The Bulldogs’ tight end depth includes experienced returner Lawson Luckie, redshirt sophomores Jaden Reddell and Colton Heinrich, and incoming freshmen Elyiss Williams and Ethan Barbour, both Georgia natives.
LG Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild has been a cornerstone of Georgia’s offensive line, excelling at left guard with consistent physicality. His wrestling background and dominance in the trenches have drawn the attention of NFL scouts. Fairchild’s rising draft stock appeals to teams prioritizing powerful run-blocking linemen.
Currently viewed as a mid-round prospect, Fairchild could elevate himself into early-round conversations with another year under Kirby Smart’s guidance. If Fairchild does return, Georgia would return four offensive linemen with significant starting experience in Fairchild, Jared Wilson, Monroe Freeling, and Earnest Greene.
WR Dillon Bell
Dillon Bell’s versatility and ability to make big plays have established him as a key contributor for the Bulldogs. Known for stretching the field and making contested catches, Bell has garnered interest from NFL evaluators. However, inconsistent production and struggles with drops leave room for growth.
Returning to Athens could help Bell polish his route-running and solidify himself as a go-to target in Georgia’s offense. With the Bulldogs poised to reload at quarterback, Bell could thrive in a more explosive system in 2025. Georgia’s receiving corps is trending younger, with Nitro Tuggle expected to take on a larger role and a highly talented group of freshmen, including 5-star Tayln Taylor and 4-star CJ Wiley, joining the roster.
DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins has been a disruptive presence on Georgia’s defensive line, excelling against both the run and pass. His combination of size, strength, and athleticism makes him a coveted NFL prospect, with projections placing him as a Day 2 pick.
Coach Trey Scott’s track record of producing elite NFL defensive linemen could persuade Ingram-Dawkins to return and work toward greater consistency. Another season could push him into first-round discussions for 2026.
