The Minnesota Vikings have revealed that head coach Mike Zimmer will have emergency eye surgery on Wednesday evening, which is some shocking news to hear. His status for the Dallas Cowboys game on Thursday night is unknown.

Coach Zimmer needed surgery to fix a damaged retina that was discovered earlier this month. Doctors on the team told him at the time that if he delayed treatment, he might lose that eye’s sight.

As for tomorrow night’s game against the Cowboys, general manager Rick Spielman released a statement on Vikings.com about that.
