The Alabama Crimson Tide usually get the recruits they desire.
That was certainly the case under Nick Saban, and incoming Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has already had substantial recruiting success.
As a result, it will be worthwhile to monitor the recruiting of four-star quarterback Keelon Russell of Duncanville, Texas.
Russell has been committed to the SMU Mustangs since September 2023, but a recent offer from DeBoer and the Crimson Tide could change things for him.
On social media, he appeared to be very thrilled about the offer.
It’s also worth mentioning that, while Russell has long been committed to SMU, he recently told On3 that he is open to all offers.
“SMU is a big priority for me right now, but I am still quite open. “I’m still taking college visits and talking to other coaches,” he stated.
Russell is planning an official visit to SMU, as well as official visits to the Florida Gators and Ole Miss Rebels.
It’s possible that the Tide will receive an official visit by the time everything is said and done.
According to 247Sports, Russell is the nation’s No. 7 2025 quarterback prospect. He has helped his high school win back-to-back Texas 6A D-1 titles.
