The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new era following a turbulent 2023-24 season. The Raiders ended 8-9 and missed the playoffs. Nonetheless, the organization made significant NFL free agent moves to enhance its roster. In addition, former Packers receiver Davante Adams will return for a third season. He had interesting thoughts about leaving his former squad now that they have attained some success.

Davante Adams provides insight on Packers-Raiders swap

Adams completed eight successful seasons with the Packers and displayed his indecisiveness before departing the team.

“I am traveling back and forth. How can I tell if this is the proper thing to do versus going somewhere where I know it’s certainly the appropriate thing to do, like playing with a guy I’ve already had experience with? “You know, we had a lot of touchdowns and yards in the two years [Derek Carr and I played in college],” Adams stated on The Rush with Maxx Crosby.

“I don’t have anything to base it on with Jordan [Love], so I’m going with the figures and doing what makes the most sense. Derek was at one point

“You can not like Derek personally, but you got to respect what he’s done and he solidified my decision to come here. So that’s a really wordy way of saying at the time when I was there, I hadn’t necessarily seen enough to say this is for sure what I should do, but in hindsight, like we talked about, I mean [Love] is a f*****g baller man I’m I’m so happy for him.”

Adams’ biggest reason for leaving the Packers was the opportunity to play with Derek Carr, his former college quarterback. Despite the addition of Jordan Love, Adams believed that playing with Carr on a rejuvenated Raiders roster would be the best decision for him.

Can Adams help Las Vegas reach the next level in 2024-25?

Raiders look to make jump in the AFC West

Davante Adams remains one of the most productive wide receivers in the league. He started his NFL career with the Packers when the team selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He made a gigantic leap after four seasons with the team. Adams amassed 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns during the 2018-19 season.

The former Fresno State Bulldog’s output continued to rise. Adams finished 2020-21 with 1,374 yards and a career-high 18 touchdowns. He followed up his spectacular year with two consecutive seasons of 1500 yards or more.

Adams has six Pro Bowl appearances and has been named to three All-Pro teams. He finished the 2023-24 season with 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns. Hopefully, Adams and Derek Carr’s chemistry will benefit them in the fall.

Carr has been one of the league’s most reliable quarterbacks, and having a weapon like Adams makes life easier for him. Overall, can the Raiders return to the playoffs in 2015?
