Leeds United boosted their midfield in stunning fashion late in August with the acquisitions of Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara, the latter of whom had previously been connected with the club.

Under Daniel Farke, the Whites finally put a long-standing curiosity in a midfield acquisition to rest this summer, as Glen Kamara signed from Rangers late in August.

With the changes in management that had occurred since their remarkable run to the Europa League final in 2022, he had somewhat lost his way at Rangers.

Kamara, a Finland international, took some time to come up to speed and earn his first start for the club, but he looked the part in last weekend’s 3-0 triumph over Watford.

How much did Leeds pay to bring him in?
Kamara joined Leeds for a fee thought to be in the region of £5.5 million after being connected with the club throughout the summer window, even dating back to Marcelo Bielsa’s stint at the club.

Kamara previously joined Rangers for a low price of £50,000 from Dundee.

How much money does he make?
According to Capology, the 27-year-old makes £22,500 each week at Elland Road, bringing in about £1.17 million over the course of a year.

Kamara joined Leeds in the last stages of the summer transfer window and signed a four-year contract extension until 2027.
