The Milwaukee Bucks will begin contract negotiations with a few players this summer. One of them is veteran forward Danilo Gallinari, who came as a midseason addition after being waived by the Detroit Pistons.

The 35-year-old did not establish himself as a significant player during his limited time in Milwaukee, thus his future with the organization is questionable. If the Bucks decide to offer Gallinari an extension, the Denver Nuggets could stand in their way.

Milwaukee Bucks News: Danilo Gallinari on Track for Nuggets Reunion?

Gallinari’s reputation as a formidable offensive weapon began in Denver. He spent six seasons with the Nuggets, his longest stay in his career, averaging 16.2 points and 4.8 rebounds while also attempting 1.8 triples per game. Gallo is no longer the nightly scoring threat he once was, but there is no disputing that he still has some gas in the tank. This is exactly why Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World believes Gallinari would be an ideal free-agent choice for the Nuggets.

“Initially, they will require his three-point shooting. Aaron Gordon will play more defense and score more from the post. Gallinari will ensure that the Denver opponent’s offense does not collapse on Jokic in the post or Murray during the drive. Gallinari’s offensive versatility allows him to play both as a power forward and small forward. That provides Coach Michael Malone some leeway in lining up his teams; he could be deployed as a stretch four in small-ball lineups or combined with Jokic and Gordon to form a fearsome frontcourt with shooting potential,” Leiva said.

Leiva also points out that at the veteran’s minimum, Gallinari would be a great cheap option for Denver to upgrade their shooting around their stars. If you think about it, this actually also applies to the Bucks.
