The NFL rumor world is firmly fixated on where Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams could end up after he announced he wanted out of Sin City. While it’s unlikely he will end up alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams on the Detroit Lions, the team could still be eyeing up the Raiders for another player. It wouldn’t come as a shock to see general manager Brad Holmes make a deal to make the Lions better, especially on defense.

Detroit lost its edge rusher Marcus Davenport to a season-ending injury this season and now the defensive line has Aidan Hutchinson to carry it. Davenport suffered a torn tricep during Week 2’s win against the Arizona Cardinals.

Ever since Davenport’s injury, the Lions pass rush has taken a dip, outside of Hutchinson, who ranks as the best by Pro Football Focus entering Week 5. But it’s not like Davenport was excelling at the level of Hutchinson’s anyway. Hutchinson has a 94.2 pass rush grade by PFF this season, in comparison to Davenport’s 64.4. Keep in mind, a grade of 60 is considered average while those in the 30s are very poor and those in the 90s are elite.

So what could the Lions do to improve the other side of the pass rush? How about Las Vegas’ Maxx Crosby. Through three games this season, Crosby has three sacks, 14 tackles (8 solo), five tackles for loss and five quarterback hits. He missed last week with an ankle injury and could miss Week 5’s contest against the Denver Broncos with the same issue.

Buccaneers The 27-year-old is signed through the 2026 season and the Lions have the available cap space and draft picks to make it happen. The obvious question is whether the Raiders will look to move the three-time Pro Bowler and another is what would they consider enough to ship Crosby to D-Town. In 86 career games, Crosby has 55 sacks, 335 tackles (213 solo), 93 tackles for loss, 129 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles. He has been a force on the edge since he was picked by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
