The No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide are set to face the No. 14 LSU Tigers in Week 11 for a massive SEC showdown that’s widely considered an elimination game for both programs. Alabama and LSU are fighting for a spot in the College Football Playoff, with both teams standing 6-2, fresh off a bye week. Before these two historic programs hit the field for the SEC battle, ESPN announced that LSU will showcase a live tiger on the field before the game.

The live tiger will be caged and wheeled around the field before kickoff, marking the first time LSU will have its official mascot at Tiger Stadium since 2015.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry spoke on the return of the animal at Tiger Stadium, deeming it an “unbelievable opportunity” in a press conference in September. “I think the opportunity to bring our mascot back onto the field is an unbelievable opportunity,” Landry said.

While the tiger will certainly attract attention from fans around the stadium, all eyes will be in between the white lines when the ball kicks off in Week 11.
