As the Los Angeles Dodgers shift their focus from the World Series to the offseason, general manager Brandon Gomes revealed how the team plans to approach Teoscar Hernández’s free agency.
“Teo was a huge part of what we accomplished this year on the field,” Gomes said. “You could see very clearly a huge impact in the clubhouse with younger guys, and his energy. So, we’ll have conversations with Teo and his group ASAP.”
Hernández has repeatedly said that he wants to return to Los Angeles for the 2025 season. Fans have also come to his aid by sharing their opinions on social media. Although the outfielder is a fan favorite and had a strong debut season in a Dodgers uniform, Hernández enters free agency as a popular commodity.
A number of teams are already showing interest in adding Hernández to their lineup. But the latest word from Gomes indicates that the Dodgers are taking a proactive approach in getting a deal finalized with the outfielder.
The feeling is mutual between both parties as Hernández has been very vocal about re-signing with the Dodgers.
“My hopes are really high,” Hernández said of re-signing. “Like I’ve said before, the Dodgers are the priority obviously. I’m going to do everything in my power to come back.”
