Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had a rough day on Sunday. The rookie quarterback was sacked nine times in the Bears’ 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots. The Bears have lost three games in a row, and are now 4-5 on the season. Chicago’s offense has scored 27 points in their last three outings.

The Bears were without both of their starting offensive tackles against the Patriots due to injury. The unit’s injury list piled up when offensive guard Teven Jenkins left the game with an ankle issue. Williams would finish 16-of-30 for 120 yards. The 2024 No. 1 pick lost 51 yards via the nine sacks taken against the Patriots.

Williams’ frustration on Sunday was on full display when Fox broadcast cameras showed Williams sitting by offensive coordinator Shane Waldron early in the third quarter. Waldron appeared to grin before turning his head.

NFL fans on social media thought Williams was upset with his offensive coordinator. “The disconnect between QB and OC is killing momentum,” wrote a fan. “Can’t blame Williams for being fed up.”

“If body language could talk,” posted another. “Williams is screaming.”

“Bros trying to make jokes while we’re actively getting embarrassed. Smh,” wrote a frustrated fan.
