There are numerous signs from Playstation that make us believe that an Atlanta Braves infielder could be on the cover of the legendary video game.

The Atlanta Braves received high praise from the national media for their achievements last season, including Spencer Strider leading the league in strikeouts, the entire offense tying the single season home run record, and Ronald Acuña Jr. winning the NL Most Valuable Player award.

Well, there is one major exception.

Ozzie Albies has been a big surprise for the Braves, but can his power surge continue? | Sporting News

MLB Network’s “Top Ten Right Now” rankings excluded one player from his positional rankings who we all anticipated to see on the list: Second baseman Ozzie Albies.

Despite a 4.7 WAR season in which he batted.280/.336/.513 with 33 homers, 96 runs, and 109 RBIs, Ozzie Albies was somehow outside of the top ten in MLB Network’s rankings, while luminaries such as Andrés Giménez (.251 average with 15 homers, 76 RBIs, and 62 RBIs) and Zack Gelof (2.6 WAR) made the list.

And it appears that PlayStation took it personally.

MLB The Show cover athlete for the 2024 edition will be selected on Wednesday at 1:00 PM ET, and there are some hints in their teaser trailer that Ozzie could be the option to adorn the cover, as (ex) second baseman Jazz Chisholm was last season.

So, to recap:

Ozzie’s autographed bat may be seen on the edge of the final teaser photo, and the fact that Ronald is already a cover player for both MLB Clutch Hit 2023 (a mobile game) and 2024 Topps Series 1 suggests that Ozzie could be the pick here.

We’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see if Ozzie receives the recognition he deserves as one of the most dynamic second basemen in the game.
