Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is enjoying a great season. He’s been the team’s outstanding player, helping them finish first in the NBA standings. With his remarkable accomplishments, it’s no surprise that he’s being touted as a potential MVP candidate.

But despite his stellar play, Tatum feels like he’s not getting as much recognition in the MVP race as he deserves. He believes that voters should take into account the context of his situation with the Celtics. Unlike some other top contenders, Tatum shares the court with several other talented players who could also make a case for being All-Stars. This means he doesn’t always have to score as much because there are other scoring options on the team. Still, he manages to impact the game in many ways to help the Celtics win consistently.

“I don’t have the points per game that the other three or four guys will, but I think the voters are smart enough to understand the dynamic of our team,” Tatum told The Athletic’s Jared Weiss. “Essentially having to do less scoring maybe on certain nights but still impact the game in a lot of ways to kind of ensure that we win every single night.” : Said Tatum

Tatum has improved in several elements of his game. He is no longer only a scorer; he has evolved as a passer, rebounder, and defender. He’s also improved his scoring strategy, becoming more versatile by attacking from various positions on the court. This not only helps him score, but also opens up opportunities for his teammates.

Overall, Tatum has emerged as one of the league’s most versatile players. While his numbers may not always be as showy as some other MVP candidates, his overall game makes him extremely useful to his club. It remains to be seen if he will win the MVP award, but there is no disputing that he is one of the league’s finest players right now.
