FIRED: The head coach of MLS winners Atlanta United  was fired due to…

Atlanta United, the MLS champions, have named Frank De Boer as their next head coach.

For the first time since his brief tenure in the Premier League at Crystal Palace at the beginning of the previous campaign, the Dutchman is back in charge. After overseeing the team for five games and 77 days, De Boer was let go by the Eagles in September of last year. During his tenure, Palace have failed to score a goal in any of their four Premier League games.

De Boer enjoyed greater success as the manager of Ajax, leading the Dutch team to four Eredivisie championships. He played for Ajax and Barcelona, where he was successful, and he also earned 112 caps for the Netherlands.

Atlanta president Darren Eales stated on the team’s website, “Frank De Boer has a distinguished background, both as manager and player, and we’re ecstatic to welcome him to our club.” “We were determined to locate someone who met all of our requirements when we started our search. Frank not only embodies the ideals of our club, but his ideas about how to play also perfectly match ours.

“He has also demonstrated success in nurturing young players, many of whom go on to become stars for elite European teams.”

After Tata Martino chose not to extend his contract with the team at the end of the season, Atlanta began searching for a new coach. In just the club’s second season in the league, Martino ended his career on a high note by winning the MLS championship.
