Two off-seasons ago, the Green Bay Packers faced the difficult decision to part ways with standout wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams’ choice came amid his desire to leave Green Bay and play alongside his college quarterback, Derek Carr.

When the Packers traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, they received a 2022 first and second round selection pick. The Raiders could be seeking to cash in even more if they decide to move on from the potential hall of fame wide receiver.

Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Could Be On The Move Again If Insane Trade Package Is Offered

Tony Pauline discussed what it could take to entice Adams away from the Raiders:

The Jets have the 10th pick in Round 1, the 72nd pick (third round), two fourth-round picks (111 and 113), and a sixth-round pick (187). They are likely to receive three compensatory selections. The Jets do not have a second-round pick because it was traded to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for Rodgers.

According to sources outside the Raiders and Jets, a first- and third-round pick in the 2024 draft will not be enough for the Raiders to trade Adams. More likely, the Raiders will demand the Jets’ first-round picks in 2024 and 2025 in exchange for their All-Pro wide receiver.

With dire needs on the offensive line as we approach a draft heavy with offensive tackles, many question the prudence of handing away so much early draft money to a receiver.

It would be startling to see the Raiders release Adams. It would be as shocking to see a team give such an outrageous trade package for a 31-year-old wide receiver (who is still one of the greatest in the league).

Adams appears to be on track to complete his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be fascinating to watch whether they start over at quarterback through the draft in an attempt to find their guy. If Adams keeps healthy, he will most likely have another 3-4 years of high-quality play. Las Vegas has plenty of time to build the most important position in football.
