The Rangers have struggled in recent games. Texas, on the other hand, ended a six-game losing streak by defeating the Minnesota Twins 6-2 on Sunday. Between injuries and underperformance, the Rangers urgently needed a good win, which they got against the Twins.

Following the game, manager Bruce Bochy was asked about Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager, who hit two home runs on Sunday.

“He’s been locked in,” Bochy said about Seager. “It’s exciting to watch great hitters get into the zone. He’s clearly there now, taking some nice swings. We needed his pitches, so we didn’t miss them. We couldn’t add anything to what he had already done on the road trip. Today, we added on.”

Seager is one of the best players in the entire sport when healthy. Texas unquestionably needs Seager’s production. The Rangers are now 25-29 in 2024, which is good for second place in the American League West. However, the defending champions hope to climb back over the .500 mark soon.

Corey Seager’s 2024 Season With Rangers

Seager, 30, is slashing .254/347/.416/.764 in 2024. He has also hit nine home runs across 48 games played. Seager has been especially impressive over his past five games. The veteran is hitting .350 with seven hits, five home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored during that span.

It would not be remarkable if Seager continued to dominate at the plate in the future. As Bochy stated, Seager appears to be “locked in” now. When a guy as talented as Seager locks in, opposition pitching rotations suffer.

Corey Seager and the Rangers hope to carry their newfound momentum into their home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. However, they will have a day off on Monday before returning to action on Tuesday in Texas.
