Lane Kiffin, the head coach at Ole Miss, is an undeniably outstanding offensive playcaller. However, when Charlie Weis Jr. was promoted as co-offensive coordinator in 2022, the Rebels’ offense improved even further.

At the end of the 2023 season, Charlie Weis Jr. signed a new three-year contract. It came a couple of months after his co-offensive coordinator partner, John David Baker, was hired by East Carolina. This left the 31-year-old Weis Jr. as the sole offensive coordinator at Ole Miss.

Charlie Weis Jr. will earn $1.65 million in 2024, an increase of around $150,000 over the 2023 season. It was a reward for his two seasons with Lane Kiffin, and the offense, led by quarterback Jaxson Dart, is expected to improve significantly in 2023. The promotion now places him among the top offensive coordinators in college football.

With his new 2024 salary, Charlie Weis Jr. is now the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the SEC. Weis is ahead of Arkansas’s Bobby Petrino and Missouri’s Kirby Moore.

Weis is presently the fifth highest-paid offensive coordinator in college football. According to Pro Football Focus, the third-year Ole Miss offensive coordinator ranks behind Ohio State’s Chip Kelly, Utah’s Andy Ludwig, Clemson’s Garrett Riley, and Notre Dame’s Mike Denbrook, who leads the list.

Jaxson Dart, an Ole Miss quarterback, is among the favorites to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy. Returning after a strong 2023 season, Dart could post even better results in 2024.

His star-studded ensemble has been mentioned countless times, as have his own abilities. However, Charlie Weis Jr., the Ole Miss offensive coordinator, is another key player who will assist Dart prosper in 2024. Weis is also the quarterback’s coach, and he has helped the senior become into an exceptional quarterback over their two seasons together.

Weis is an elite playcaller who can exploit any defensive plan. This was frequently seen last season. However, the Peach Bowl victory over Penn State featured flawless offensive play. Dart finished the game with 379 throwing yards on 25 completions and three touchdowns against one of college football’s finest defenses.
